Airport

Directions from Halifax: Take Highway 102 to Exit 6. It is approximately 35 kilometres (22 miles) from downtown Halifax, and takes about 30 minutes to drive by car.
A cab to the airport currently costs $55. There are also a number of other Ground Transportation options, including:

Transportation
- Metro Transit provides bus and ferry services throughout the Halifax area. Dalhousie students receive a U-Pass, a special transit pass which allows you to ride from September to April. Without a U-Pass, Metro Transit fares are $2.00 for each one-way trip, although some services cost extra.
- Acadian has bus routes to towns throughout the Maritimes.
- Via Rail. Train service throughout Canada.
- Taxis
In Halifax, taxis will not stop if you try to flag them down. To get a taxi, either call or go to one of the taxi stands located throughout downtown. Most grocery stores will have a free phone at the entrance which dials directly to a taxi service. If you take a taxi off the peninsula and expect to get one back, check in advance to make sure the taxi company will send a car there.
